Melissa Martin

Melissa is more than familiar with the many aspects of multi-media production. With over 20 years experience in makeup design, she utilizes her expertise in all facets of the industry!

Melissa has a flair for innovation and loves working with color; a trait she has applied consistently in her makeup career.  Melissa studied color theory and art history while attending University.   Working for major cosmetic houses and makeup artist ranges, Melissa gained extensive knowledge of various cosmetic brands.  She worked as a freelance makeup artist for Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Christian Dior, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and MAC. Additionally, Melissa established a successful private client base, including bridal, event, and photography makeup.   

In 2005, work brought Melissa to London where she was employed as an International Master Artist and Trainer for P8N8 Skin Colours.  She was involved in London Fashion Weeks, and utilized her expertise to provide content for editorials in many UK-based magazines. 

Melissa’s dream of working in television and film resulted in an advanced training certificate in Multi-Media Makeup from the renowned London-based Greasepaint Studios. While in Europe, Melissa worked as a designer in commercial, film, music videos, television, and theatre mediums.  

Relocating to Minnesota, she continues to work as a commercial makeup artist.  Her new-found passion is education.  In 2009, she joined Faces ETC of MN as the Director of Education. Melissa finds it rewarding to witness the professional development and success of Faces ETC graduates. 

Melissa is gifted in airbrush and conventional makeup, period makeup, basic SFX/x, and hair styling.  She excels in commercial, film, industrial, new media, print, television, music videos, theatre and bridal mediums. 

Her professional touch as Department Head and Key Makeup and Hair for many films, videos, corporate sponsors and other production houses, keeps her in high demand as a local artist. Often working on productions, Melissa has the ability to mentor her Faces ETC of MN students and graduates so they may gain valuable “on-set” experiences.

film features and shorts, HDTV (broadcast news, pilots, game shows, dramas, reality and talk shows) commercials, national ad campaigns in USA, Europe/UK, fashion, editorial, runway, London Fashion Weeks, music videos, lifestyle, weddings, occasions, and is a published beauty expert.
