The instructors at Faces ETC of MN are all working makeup artists for TV, film, print, fashion, music videos and stage - as well as licensed beauty educators with over 30+ years in the industry.

Learn all aspects of the industry, including airbrushing, photography, print, fashion, hairstyling, portfolio development, set etiquette, and more... and execute a fashion photo shoot with professional fashion photographers - all highly esteemed in this Midwest market!

Our Method:

At Faces ETC of MN, our instructors excel in the use of proven learning techniques: hands-on application with in-depth instructor feedback. This provides the broadest and most modern training in the field.

Included in the 130 Hour Multi-Media Professional Makeup Artistry course is our professional business skills and marketing class to help prepare students for entry level work as a freelance artist.

Students learn all of the important elements of makeup application while focusing on mastering the skills and techniques used in the world of media makeup.  They begin by building every day looks and work to execute more intricate applications.

Success is ensured through our small artist-to-instructor ratios that allows students to learn and master these step-by-step skills at a pace that increases their confidence as artists.

Various mediums are employed with an emphasis on custom blending of products.

The latest and fastest growing makeup application - airbrushing - is included.

The program culminates with a professional photo shoot day where we bring in top name fashion photographers to capture work in print. Students receive a  CD of all photographs for their working portfolio.

Students also view and critique their work daily on a large high-definition flat screen TV, which enables them to best perfect their application process.

About our Instructors and Educators

	Debbie Carlson, President of Faces ETC of MN,  has over 34 years in beauty education and as a freelance makeup artist. She is a graduate of Joe Blasco Makeup School.  Additionally, she served as Director of Education for one of the largest beauty school chains in the metro area, and currently holds 4 beauty licenses. Debbie has combined her passion for makeup and the beauty industry to create a training center that focuses on your career and success as a makeup artist!  Our goal is to raise the standard for working makeup artists everywhere, and this program of excellence will help you achieve the goals you have as well as give you the skills necessary for your success. 	Melissa Martin, Director of Education, has 20 years experience in the industry, and is a graduate of the prestigious Greasepaint Makeup School in London. Melissa worked for 3 years on London’s fashion weeks, and specializes in film makeup, wardrobe and production assistance.  Melissa's background in color theory and art history allows her to share vital insight into all aspects of our work. Her elaborate background includes owning her own makeup studio, and working for elite cosmetic lines such as: Bobbi Brown,  Laura Mercier, MAC, Chanel, Christian Dior, NARS, and Bobbi Brown. 	Meghan Bernstein, Instructor, has 6+ years experience in the industry, as well as a background in public relations and communications. After moving from the Twin Cities to Los Angeles, Meghan found herself immersed in many facets of the entertainment industry, eventually finding herself developing her talents as a freelance media makeup artist.  Read More

Faces ETC of MN excels in the use of proven learning techniques. We understand the importance of incorporating a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on approach to learning that will give each student the most comprehensive and up-to-date training in the field.

We also utilize many different guest artists and instructors currently working as freelance media makeup artists to share their knowledge.  We are proud to stay current in the different and new mediums of the industry; knowing what skills are needed, which products to use, and how to market yourself will all be important factors long after a student's course is completed!

Our photo shoots are conducted with professional fashion photographers. They will capture different looks, one of you, and two of your professional model. You  will receive a CD of your work along with copyrights to use on a website or have them printed for your book, comp cards, or other marketing materials.
